Steels and alloys for power equipment. Handbook.
The handbook provides information on more than 300 materials, used in the domestic heat-power, nuclear and hydraulic engineering, and is uniform as to the list of the data included.
A brief description of the main equipment of power plants is given, and material science problems in power engineering as well as grading systems of steels, alloys and cast irons are stated. Technological and special properties of materials, the main requirements for them, procedures for the required inspections, analysis and prediction of such properties are described in this handbook. Data on properties of the Russian power equipment materials (more than 100) are given in tables.
Information on approximately 700 foreign steels and alloys applied in power engineering is presented. Tables of physical properties of power engineering materials and their mechanical characteristics versus different temperatures are given in Appendices. Grades of electric steels and their properties are described.
References to the corresponding sources of information accompany the data provided in the handbook. The handbook is meant for designers, technologists, physical metallurgy specialists and other power engineers as well as for specialists of all branches of industry. It is useful for lecturers, post-graduates and students of technical institutions of higher education.
