- Unit 5 of Kozloduy NPP in Bulgaria - until 2027
2018 PUTTING OF POWER UNITS INTO COMMERCIAL OPERATION WITH REACTOR PLANTS DESIGNED BY OKB “GIDROPRESS”

2018 INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGY WAS IMPLEMENTED
Recovery annealing of a high-power reactor vessel, performed for the first time ever, was successfully completed at Unit 1 of Balakovo NPP. This technology was a combined development of the National Research Center “Kurchatov Institute”, OKB “GIDROPRESS”, JSC NPO "TSNIITMASH", Central Research Institute KM Prometey, JSC “Concern Rosenergoatom”. The equipment was designed and manufactured by JSC NPO "TSNIITMASH". The design justification of the reactor vessel operability and service life was performed by OKB “GIDROPRESS”. The mechanical properties of the reactor vessel were restored based on the annealing results, which made it possible to extend the lifetime of the vessel and Unit 1 as a whole until 2033. Without recovery annealing, the service life of the reactor vessel was to end in 2018. The new service life of the reactor vessel is 2033.
2018 EXTENSION OF SERVICE LIFE
In December 2018, a license was obtained for operation of Unit 3 of Balakovo NPP until 2048.
